FRACKVILLE, Pa. (AP) — FRACKVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A Philadelphia man who spent more than two decades behind bars for a murder he didn't commit is a free man — 17 years after another man confessed to the crime.
John Miller was released Wednesday after 22 years in prison. Surrounded by family outside the State Correctional Institution at Mahanoy, 100 miles north of Philadelphia, he said it felt "surreal."
In 1998, a jury found Miller guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death of a man in a parking lot outside 30th Street Station two years prior, even though there was no physical evidence of his involvement.

Man killed following two-vehicle crash in Blair Co.
Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — State Police in Hollidaysburg say one person was killed Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash along Woodbury Pike in Taylor Township, Blair County.
Investigators say the crash occurred just before 4 p.m. when the driver of a Subaru Legacy crossed into the northbound lane of travel and collided with a Ford Transit vehicle.
Police say the driver of the Subaru was transported to Conemaugh Nason hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

One injured after train collides with SUV in Cambria County
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say one person was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a train versus passenger vehicle collision.
911 officials say the incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in the area of Krings Street and Eisenhower Blvd. in Richland.
According to a witness, the SUV was reportedly stopped on the tracks when it was struck by a CSX freight train.
Flaggers were also reportedly nearby, directing traffic, as that intersection has seen a recent increase in traffic due to a local detour.

Patton Pool reopens to the community after being closed for years

The pool closed down during the summer of 2017 due to a lack of funding, staffing, and community support.

Blair County crews called to 3-alarm fire in Frankstown Township
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Blair County crews were called to battle a three-alarm fire Friday evening, around 5:15 P.M. in Frankstown Township.
Emergency officials say the fully-involved structure fire was reported at 139 Frankstown Sportsman Road.
Three people were inside the home at the time of the fire but were able to get out by the time firefighters arrived.
A fire marshal was called to the scene.
According to Fire Chief Keith Dennisestep of the Geeseytown Community Fire Company, the house is a total loss.
