Crews battle brush fire in Clearfield County

Authorities are responding to a brush fire in Clearfield, according to county dispatch.

According to PA 511, the fire began near Mt Joy Road and Goshen Road Monday afternoon.

It is unclear at this time if the fire is threatening any surrounding buildings.

Authorities say there is a traffic disruption.

Philipsburg woman charged in man's fatal overdose

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a Philipsburg woman is behind bars for her role in the fatal overdose of a 26-year-old man earlier this year. Police say on April 10th, officers were dispatched to a residence along the 100 block of Flint Court, in Spring Township, for a reported overdose. Investigators say the victim was found in a bedroom, and Narcan was provided, but first responders were unsuccessful in reviving the man. [Read More]

Seward Police Chief accused of obstructing justice, soliciting sex

SEWARD, Pa. (WJAC) — A Westmoreland County police officer has been charged after using his authority to exploit women for sex, according to a criminal complaint. State police say 49-year-old Robert Baldwin Jr. has been charged with obstruction of justice, hindering apprehension and official oppression. According to state police, Baldwin was the Seward Police Chief and also worked part time as a patrol officer for St. Clair Township. Troopers say they interviewed a woman in September who claimed Baldwin pulled her over in Seward after she ran a stop sign on her way home from Latrobe in February. [Read More]

BOSTON (TND) — A Boston city councilor on Tuesday denounced a budgeting process in which residents at least 11 years old can vote on how to spend some public funds. The participatory budgeting process allows residents to submit project ideas to the Office of Participatory Budgeting, which then reviews and develops them into proposals before putting them on a January ballot. Former 'Southern Charm' star Kathryn Dennis arrested for DUI after 3-car crash

(WCIV) — Kathryn Dennis, a former star on the reality TV show "Southern Charm," was arrested Monday night for driving under the influence, according to an incident report from the Goose Creek Police Department.
