Town hall meeting set for Philipsburg state police barracks closing on April 6

PHILIPSBURG - In a recent letter to state representative Scott Conklin, Gov. Tom Wolf confirmed the closing and consolidation of the Philipsburg state police barracks. Employees at the Phillipsburg station will be combined with the Rockview barracks staff. There are plans to build new buildings for the Rockview barracks in the Benner Park area. Christian lifeguard sues Calif. fire department for allegedly forcing Pride flag display

LOS ANGELES (TND) — A Christian lifeguard in California is suing his local fire department after it allegedly threatened to dismiss him for refusing to display a Pride flag at his workplace, court documents show. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors in 2023 passed a resolution requiring all facilities operated by the county to display the 'Progress Pride Flag' during June. Capt. Fire destroys Hardee's restaurant in Breezewood

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A fire destroyed the Hardee's restaurant in Breezewood Saturday. Breezewood Volunteer Fire Department Chief Toby Colledge said the broiler caught fire, and flames went through the ventilation equipment and up to the roof. Colledge said by the time enough manpower was able to arrive on the scene, much of the roof was already ablaze. It took about an hour to get the fire under control, and crews were on scene for several hours putting out hot spots. [Read More]
